Ever since a visit to Twomey's tasting room a few years ago, I've been loving their Andersen Valley Pinot Noir. This is a great lighter red wine with beautiful color. It is fruity but not overpowering with the taste of berries. It's very velvety and smooth! I've been collecting bottles of this with my wine club shipments from Twomey; you can also order directly from them without joining their wine club.
This wine is smooth enough to drink on its own, however like most Pinot Noirs, it is a fairly light red wine, so it pairs nicely with a lot of things. I like it with these Pork Tacos, with this Grilled Salmon and even with this Kale Pesto Pasta. I also love Pinot Noir with a nice, rich blue cheese or a sharp gruyere.
At $50 per bottle, this is a good choice for a nice dinner or when entertaining.
