I can't believe it's already the middle of November - how did that happen?! The month started out with a week of 70 degree temps, who doesn't love Indian Summer in November!
Things I'm Loving
For several weeks I was anxiously awaiting the start of BlogHer Food '15. It was my first food blogging conference since I started blogging and I was so excited to learn new things and meet more food bloggers. It definitely lived up to everything I was expecting. I kicked the conference off with a dinner at Little Goat Diner that was sponsored by Canadian Lentils. It was a great time with some amazing food - and lentils in every dish. We also got to meet Stephanie Izard and watch her do her thing in the kitchen!
My three favorite sessions at the conference were the session on email, the session on audit proving your blog and the session on food styling. I learned a tremendous amount from each one.
The email session provided great tips on how to get more people to opt-in to your email sign-up, including using words like "you", "get" or "discover" in the sign-up box. They also discussed the best place to put your sign-up form - definitely NOT in the sidebar!
Angele Lafond from Shoebox Be Gone gave us amazing advice on how to audit proof our blogs. Including creating a separate panty for blog ingredients and making sure we have some type of post planning and expense tracking system in place. She also provides some great resources that are available via her website.
Jennifer Janz from A Fabulous Food Stylist gave us tips on how to improve our food styling including some key items like a small mesh strainer, long tweezers and pipettes that you should include in your styling kit.

Here are some of the recipes I added to my "must make" list in the past month:
This Eggplant Rollatini from The Wicked Noodle looks so cheesy and delicious!
These Salted Caramel Apple Hand Pies from Annie's Noms would make a perfect afternoon snack
These Apple Bourbon Pulled Pork Sandwiches from The Chunky Chef really make me think of fall
and because everyone needs a good fall cocktail I included this Autumn Glow Sour from Lexi Bites
